SDC-SKILLS & TALENT ENHANCEMENT PROGRAMME

The SDC-Skills & Talent Enhancement Programme (SSTEP) is a human capital development programme by SEDIA, with the aim to reskill and upskill retrenched workers and unemployed job seekers affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Through SSTEP, SEDIA will match job seekers with employment in line with the needs of local industries for their workforce.

PARTICIPATING IN SSTEP

SSTEP Initiatives are Open to Job Seekers, Entrepreneurs, Employers, and Training Providers.

Job Seekers

Have you been retrenched due to COVID-19, or unemployed for more than 3 months?

Employers

Are you looking to hire suitable workforce for your company? Willing to offer employment to potential trained job seekers?

Training Providers

Are you looking to offer training to job seekers? Able to offer employment to potential trained job seekers upon completion of training?

Home Business/ Entrepreneurship

Are you looking to hire suitable workforce for your company? Willing to offer employment to potential trained job seekers?

JOB SEEKERS

For those affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged 18 and above
  • Retrenched or unemployed for at least three (3) months from the date of application
  • Malaysia citizens, with priority for Sabahans

EMPLOYERS

For those looking for trained and skilled workers. Criteria for employers:

  • A company or industrial association incorporated in Malaysia
  • Full-time vacancies available
  • Able to offer:
    • Job placement / employment to successful candidates upon completion of the training; or
    • Job placement / employment and conduct an in-house training programme

TRAINING PROVIDERS

For those offering training. Criteria for Training Providers:

  • An institution of Higher Learning incorporated in Malaysia;
  • A registered and reputable skills-training institution or company incorporated in Malaysia;
  • A company, corporation or business proprietor incorporated in Malaysia;
  • An external trainer (qualified or certified trainer through an accredited body);
  • An in-house trainer (experienced and qualified trainer appointed by the employer).
  • All training modules must be approved by SEDIA prior to commencement

HOME BUSINESS / ENTREPRENEURSHIP

For those interested in home business or entrepreneurship. Eligibility Criteria:

  • Aged 18 and above
  • Retrenched or unemployed for at least three (3) months from date of application
