Kota Kinabalu (Thursday) -The Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (SEDIA) today received a courtesy visit in Wisma SEDIA by Dato’ Noharuddin Nordin, Chief Executive Officer of the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA). Dato’ Noharuddin Nordin and his delegation were welcomed by Chief Executive Datuk Dr Mohd Yaakub and several management staff of SEDIA.

The MIDA delegation also consisted of Dato’ Azman Mahmud, Deputy Chief Executive Officer; Mohd Rasli Muda, Director in the Business & Other Services division; Yusri Hasnan Chu, Special Officer to the CEO; Masni Muhammad, Deputy Director in the Chemical Industry division; Jaibalan Harirayan, Assistant Director in the Business & Other Services division; and Nazuki Abdullah, Director of MIDA Sabah.

The visiting delegation was briefed on current investment opportunities under the Sabah Development Corridor. The objective for the meeting was to provide MIDA officials with the necessary information on development activities within Sabah, so as to better inform potential investors during any of their investment promotion activities.

For the year 2012-2013 under the Second Rolling Plan of the Tenth Malaysia Plan, SEDIA will accord greater emphasis on measures to realise planned investment and promote investment in industries with the potential to generate higher value-add to Sabah’s economy. SEDIA’s programmes under the Second Rolling Plan will be guided by the SEDIA Corporate Plan 2012-2013. -SDCMedia
